Terms of Service

ChurchAtlas ("ChurchAtlas," "we," "us") provides a directory that helps people find Christian churches and gatherings near them, and helps churches share their gatherings with the people looking for them. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and ChurchAtlas. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use ChurchAtlas.

1. What ChurchAtlas is — and isn't

ChurchAtlas is a listing and discovery platform. We help churches publish information about themselves and their gatherings, and we help people search and find them. We are not a party to any relationship between a church, a group leader, and a person who attends a gathering.

We do not vet, endorse, supervise, or background-check the churches, leaders, gatherings, or individuals listed or found through ChurchAtlas. Listings are submitted by the churches themselves. You are responsible for using your own judgment and discretion when contacting anyone or attending any gathering.

2. Who may use ChurchAtlas

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, list a church, or arrange to meet others through ChurchAtlas. By using the platform you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate. If you create an account on behalf of a church or organization, you confirm you are authorized to do so.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

4. Respecting others

ChurchAtlas exists to help the body of Christ find one another. We expect every person here to treat others with dignity, honesty, and care. You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. In short, you agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, abuse, defame, or harm any person.
• Post false, misleading, or impersonating information, including fake churches or gatherings.
• Use ChurchAtlas to solicit, spam, scam, recruit for unrelated causes, or sell products or services.
• Misuse the contact details or personal information of others, or share another person's private information.
• Target, deceive, or endanger vulnerable people, including by misrepresenting your identity to access women-only, men-only, or other protected gatherings.
• Post unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content, or content that is not consistent with the platform's purpose.
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, scrape, or overload the platform.

5. Content you submit

You keep ownership of the listings, descriptions, and other content you submit. By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting ChurchAtlas. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings and for keeping them up to date, and you confirm you have the right to post what you submit.

Church listings and gatherings marked public are, by their nature, visible to anyone using ChurchAtlas. Do not list information you are not comfortable making public.

6. Meeting others & safety

Connecting with people you have not met carries inherent risk. ChurchAtlas does not screen participants. Use good judgment: meet in public or established church settings where possible, tell someone where you are going, and trust your instincts. You attend gatherings and contact others at your own risk. ChurchAtlas is not responsible for the conduct of any church, leader, or individual, whether online or in person.

7. Reporting & enforcement

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these Terms, please report it to christian.gzmn1@gmail.com. We review reports and aim to act on serious violations promptly. We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account, at our discretion, to keep the community safe.

8. Disclaimers

ChurchAtlas is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, current, or that any church or gathering meets your expectations or doctrinal preferences. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChurchAtlas will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of ChurchAtlas, your interactions with any church, leader, or individual, or your attendance at any gathering. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChurchAtlas from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of ChurchAtlas, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date and may ask you to agree again before you continue using ChurchAtlas. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using ChurchAtlas at any time and may delete your listing and account from your settings. We may suspend or terminate access for any violation of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state in which the operator of ChurchAtlas is principally located, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located there.
